Interview with Bryan W. Dull author of the awesome Solstice
On the blog today I have the very talented
author Bryan W Dull, He recently came 2nd in Horror Fans Asylum
Author of the year, A fantastic achievement I think you would agree?
It didn’t hurt my ego at all. I just liked
I was nominated
Welcome Bryan, Nice to have you on my blog
today, Glad you could stop by on your blog tour.
Thanks for having me around again.
How is that going so far?
Good, everything is turning out well and
the sequel is out now!
I have to say, I love Solstice, How many are
there going to be in the series?
There will be three actual novels in total
When is the next in the series going to be
coming out & what will it be called?
“Equinox” is out now, Please check out the link
What was your biggest inspiration for the
Solstice Series?
This book started off as a screenplay but I
stopped working on it because it was boring me and it was missing something. It
turned out that when my daughter was born, a girl was what I needed in the
story.
I have noticed a lot of authors have muses,
Do you have one? if so, are they male or female & do they constantly talk
to you?
I
don’t think I have one, the only muse I really have is my music.
How old are you now? if you don’t mind me
asking?
I am
34 years old
Do you write full time?
No,
not at this point. I wish. I work a full time job and go to school.
Do you have any guilty pleasures?
Videogames, comic books, and 80’s music.
What do you do to celebrate a book coming
out?
For myself, I just like knowing that its
out. I don’t do anything extravagant. I just see it as another thing I
accomplished. I am a bit hard on myself I guess. Maybe I should do something
next time.
What would you change about yourself if you
could?
I’m a little introverted. I got held up at gunpoint
a few times and I have never been able to get back to life like most do and see
it. Maybe that’s why my views on people and life are I little askew.
What is your favourite thing to do in the
whole world?
Go to the comic book store on the weekends
with my daughter.
What
would we find on your hard drive right now?
Music, games, writing projects, and
schoolwork.
How do you research for your books, Do you
go and check out places your books will be based or just google them?
Everything I have done to this point has been
from memory. Equinox has some locations I had to Google but not too much
What is your favourite item of clothing?
I like T-shirts with pop culture things on
it. I’m a geek.
If and when Solstice is turned into a film,
as I am sure it will be, who would you prefer to play the part of Solstice and
Why?
Well, it would have to be to separate girls,
but I think I would want Chloe Moretz as Solstice. I generally like her as an
actress and she has a unique look to her that embodies the character I had in
my mind.
Do you read much? If so who are your
favourite authors?
Chuck Palahniuk, Clive Barker, Stephen King,
Neil Gaiman, and Ernest Cline
If you could be anyone in the world, who
would you be & why?
No one. If I were anyone else I wouldn’t be
me
Optional questions
All time favorite movie? Or top 3?
Ghostbusters
Coffee, Tea or something cold, what tickles
your fancy the most?
Something cold
Favourite Colour?
Blue
Chocolate or Candy?
Candy, you get more of a variety that way.
Sun or rain?
Sun
Favourite animal?
Tiger
Well it was so fantastic having you here
on my blog, Thankyou
Ebook: Solstice (The Solstice Chronicles)
Author: Bryan W. Dull
Fiction, Paranormal,
This review may contain spoilers
I was given this by the author for an honest review
Summary: In Gavin Moxley's world, there is no thin line
between right and wrong. In a personal crusade to help sever a line of disease
carried by a clan of vampires; Gavin has no choice to be ruthless. The Vampires
are purposely infecting the human population…waiting for humans to actively
pass it on to each other. Gavin takes no chances and executes them one by one.
Not strong or powerful, finding humans before they turn into full vampires is
ideal and Gavin’s best bet.
Yes, this is Gavin’s life…
…And nothing ever changes it until a young half breed
vampire with special abilities, Solstice, attaches and makes herself a fixture
in his life when she asks for his help and protection and when a reluctant
Gavin agrees he joins a dangerous game of cat and mouse. There is no safe place
and the pair are constantly watching their backs. Torn between his hate and his
love for Solstice Gavin is thrown into a moral dilemma that only he can figure
out but two things are clear…
His faith and Humanity are being tested and the past is not
always forgotten.
The Review
OK I started this a little unsure of whether I would like
it, The author was new to me, but I thought give it a shot, there is nothing
better than finding an author you could fall in love with and that is what has
happened, The author wrote this with such passion, that I believed every word,
I thought he brought the book to life for me, I could see the whole book played
out in front of my eyes, just like a film, there were a few scenes that were a
little hard to put into words but the author succeeded beautifully, the characters were very well written, really
descriptive, I will be looking out for more from this author, as he has me
hooked on his storytelling, 4.5/5
