Summary: Angela is a girl after revenge in the biggest way, she needs it for closure against Rafe who publicly used & abused her for his own fiendish and despicable satisfaction, along comes Daryl the demon, he is a level one demon who can help Angela to come to terms with her new abilities.

The Review
I was given this by the author for an honest review, I loved the characters in this book, they were not many of them, only three main characters but they were great, Angela was a woman on a mission after she was used in a very depraved way by her ex boyfriend, Rafe, Angela feels she needs to get him back and the best way to do that is with the help of a level one demon, Daryl was his name and he came to Angela after hearing her Siren Song, There is a great twist in the tail to this story, which will leave you wanting more, I am hoping that the author will bring us more tales from 2 of the characters, I don’t want to give too much away, but I will say Revenge is definitely served.

1, Where did your inspiration come from for Within the Shadows?
I grew up reading King, Goodkind, Pratchett, and fell in love with the horror elements in their work. Having read John Polidori’s ‘The Vampyre’ when I was twelve it sealed my obsession with the nightwalker. From there on it I just spent so much time creating my own fantasy world where vampires lived, and took it from there. All my reading inspired me to create my own take on Vampirism and Within the Shadows is a product of that obsession and respect for a genre that is fast changing.
