GIVEAWAY & Interview by Julieanne Lynch
Hi Julieanne, Thankyou for joining me today, I am so happy to see you here, I have fallen in love with your whole Series, OK maybe I am a little in love with Antoine, but then who isn't?
Thanks for having me, Julie.
1, Where did your inspiration come from for Within the Shadows?
I grew up reading King, Goodkind, Pratchett, and fell in
love with the horror elements in their work. Having read John Polidori’s ‘The
Vampyre’ when I was twelve it sealed my obsession with the nightwalker. From
there on it I just spent so much time creating my own fantasy world where
vampires lived, and took it from there. All my reading inspired me to create my
own take on Vampirism and Within the Shadows is a product of that obsession and
respect for a genre that is fast changing.
2, Have you ever had an out of body experience?
I would like to say, yes! But sadly no. I think it would
be amazing and would be a great source of inspiration for a book.
3, Do you listen to music while writing? If so, what
kind?
I love music, and it has always been a big part of my
life. It helped me as a teen, and I suppose in a way, it has become a way of
life for me to switch on the iPod and write as the smooth vocals of some of my
favourite artists blast in the background.
I love all music, but simply cannot write without Linkin
Park, Dead by Sunrise, Nickelback, Metallica, Rage Against the Machine,
Palcebo; mixed in with a little Paramore, My Bloody Valentine, and Kerli.
4, What would you recommend to someone who likes to
listen to music while reading ?
Personally, I think it depends on the genre you are
working on. I don’t expect romance authors to listen to the likes of Slipknot,
and vice versa. But if like me, you love rock and metal, then a little Linkin
Park goes a long way!
5, What kind of things would we find on your browsing
history right now?
Oh dear! Well, there is a lot of research on the Spanish
Armada, and French Revolution, umm, Facebook, Twitter, Goodreads, my website,
oh and of course, Ben Barnes and Chester Bennginton. Come on, I need a little
eye candy for inspiration.
We all need a little eye candy, can't blame you for that one, lol
6, Do you have any guilty pleasures?
Oh yes! And they come in many forms: Rhianna (seriously)
I love her voice and I’ve written some pretty hot scenes listening to her
vocals.
I love Miranda – I could sit and watch her all day long.
It has to be BBC 1’s best sitcom.
I love good Ale, and could quite happily sit in a nice
pub, by a fire, and downing pints all day!
Stephen Fry! He’s just bloody amazing.
7, What do you do to relax after finishing a book?
Drink! Or try and sleep, but I do find it hard to switch
off.
8, If an aspiring writer asked for advice what would you
tell them?
Read as much as possible, you learn from how other
authors write, and obviously practice your passion. Write, even if it’s just a
few lines each day. Always carry a journal/note book of some kind, I personally
have a pretty little pink one that I plot down random thoughts and lines in. It
drives everyone crazy because I could be in a meeting, or chatting to family,
and I just have the most bizarre things running through my head spontaneously,
and need to jot them down.
So, reading and writing it the best source at learning
the craft!
9, What did you buy with your first wage packet and do you still have it?
I bought a Judas Priest album, on cassette, many, many
years ago, and YES, I still have it.
10, If you could write about any subject that is near and
dear to your heart, what would it be and why?
Depression! I have battled depression since the age of
16, and have suffered from postnatal depression after four out of five births,
and I cannot seem to find a book that explains the dark feelings that can consume
my daily life. I don’t want to write a self help book, because I don’t believe
I am ‘helping myself’ in any way, I’d just like to be able to share my story
and let others know they’re not alone.
11, Who are your absolute favourite authors and what would
you do if they read & loved your book?
I adore James Patterson, I have every novel he’s written
or co written. I am an obvious Stephen King fan, I love Charlaine Harris,
Richelle Mead, and Rachel Caine. If anyone of those five read my books, well,
I’d keel over from shock, and if they loved my work, I would be tweeting and
FBing like crazy. I would be super proud and humbled!

So as I have already reviewed Within the Shadows & Escaping Shadows, here is my review for Bitter Kisses, a Prequel to the series,
Ebook: Bitter Kisses
Author: Julieanne Lynch
Fiction, Paranormal,
This review may contain spoilers
I was given this by the author for an honest review
Summary: In a world full of fantastical wonder, one lone
vampire walks headfirst into an old age battle, but what he meets he is ill
prepared for. A life long friendship is forged, but with it comes a curse.
The Review
Holy moly it’s Antoine, I loved Within the shadows & Escaping Shadows and
this is a prequel to both of those, this one tells the tale of how Antoine
& Ysoriel meet for the first time, & how come they saved each other and
are now life long friends in escaping
Shadows, I think the author has written this with the same feelings in mind
when she wrote the Shadow World series, Antoine will never be the same again
after his meeting with Ysoriel, I loved this book, if you have read the Shadow
World Series, you have to read this one, Highly recommend it to all, 5/5

Great interview!!! I think B.O is the worse...right next to someone who has excessive dandruff and wears black. LOL
ReplyDeleteThat's a cool interview and a very attractive blog design you have here..
ReplyDeleteHmm. My favorite Paranormal Pleasure. Hmm. I guess it's a sparkling vampire. Heck no. I'm kidding. I really cannot think of an answer, but I do like when the male lead can read his partner's mind.
