Fiery Librian Julieanne Lynch is an author of urban fantasy books for both adults and teens. Julieanne lives in Northern Ireland, where she works on her Shadows Trilogy and other series full-time. Before becoming a writer, she considered a few different career paths, a rock star being one of them. She studied English Literature and Creative Writing at The Open University, and considered journalism as a career path. However, she decided writing was the way for her and believes all of her education and reading prepared her for it.

An avid reader, Julieanne has always had an encompassing fascination with folklore. When not writing, she enjoys crime series such as Criminal Minds, CSI, NCIS and Cold Case, and loves anything with Vampires, listening to metal, meeting new people, drinking lots of green tea, and sharing her dreams with her children. She is a self-professed goth wanna-be,and is happy when left to write into the early hours of the morning.

Julieanne also writes under the pen name J.A. Lynch

Julieanne's YA series, The Shadows Trilogy, is published by Vamptasy Publishing and thus far contains In the Shadows. It follows the war between vampires and shadow creatures. Giselle Bergman, an 18-year old human girl, falls victim to a scheme by one of her closest childhood friends, and embarks on a journey that sees her become the center of a battle between good and evil.

So lets have a review for each book, then we can have my infamous Antoine interview again, I loved interviewing him, he is my new fictional hugstuff

Thrown from one problem straight into another, the razors edge gets thinner and sharper, testing Giselle's sanity and vitality. Not even she can hide when living within the shadows.

The Review
I loved this book, I did like Alex, Goes to show, you cannot judge a book by it’s cover, I kind of like Antoine, I hope he turns out to be a nice guy in book 2, When will that be out by the way, Can’t wait to sink my teeth into that one.
I could not put this one down, I love a great vampire book and this was definitely a great one, Giselle was a great character, she went from a virgin who was having boyfriend trouble to a girl in serious trouble, I am hooked, There were many twists & turns that kept you on the edge of your seat, Miss Lynch I need book 2 Please, Does she get away? Can she save her baby? Does she ever get home to her family? Is there anyone she can trust? I hope she manages to trust Antoine in the end, he sounded so good, Hope he stays that way, I would highly recommend to my friends,  I give this one 5/5

With vampires and shadow creatures vying for her life, can Giselle escape the darkness consuming her, or will she finally descend into the world of shadows?

The Review
Well I have been looking forward to this for a while now, I adored Within the Shadows and believe me I adored this one too, I am so enthralled by Giselle and Antoine’s life, I couldn’t put it down, There were some moments in this book, when I honestly wanted to be in their world to help them, not that I can kick butt, but I would have tried. There were some awesome fight scenes in this one, and even more scenes that made me so emotional, I am so looking forward to book 3, I hope we don’t have too long a wait until it is out, not sure I will be able to cope without Giselle and Antoine, or any of the other characters, I am not going to give anything away but I do think Alex is growing on me, not sure WHY at the moment but I think he has potential, as with Within the Shadows, the author really knew how to keep you on toes, the twists & turns had me enthralled from the start, this book just carries on from the first, without any break, just how a series should be, that way you don’t wonder what has been happening with all the characters in the meantime, I loved how the author gave us perspectives from a variety of characters , I love when an author does this, its always great to know what each character feels during the book, Highly recommended to all friends & family, Please go and grab yourself a copy you won’t be Sorry, 5/5

Ebook: Bitter Kisses

I was given this by the author for an honest review

Summary: In a world full of fantastical wonder, one lone vampire walks headfirst into an old age battle, but what he meets he is ill prepared for. A life long friendship is forged, but with it comes a curse.

The Review
Holy moly it’s Antoine, I loved  Within the shadows & Escaping Shadows and this is a prequel to both of those, this one tells the tale of how Antoine & Ysoriel meet for the first time, & how come they saved each other and are now life long friends in  escaping Shadows, I think the author has written this with the same feelings in mind when she wrote the Shadow World series, Antoine will never be the same again after his meeting with Ysoriel, I loved this book, if you have read the Shadow World Series, you have to read this one, Highly recommend it to all, 5/5

I would highly recommend this whole series, so check out the author page on Amazon, link below, grab yourself a copy,

OK lets speak to Antoine who I think is the hero in this series, well he is for me, YUMMY.

Thank you for joining us today Antoine, come & take a seat, on my couch, Don’t worry it’s not a casting couch, Well maybe, we will see how you get on.
Thank you, Julie, and might I just add, I think you look simply delicious this fine evening!

Oh my has it got a bit warm in here now, *waves hand in front of face*
Ok, shall we start, are you ready, because I am more than ready
I am ready when you are, I have all the time in the world!

How are you feeling, you’re not nervous, are you?
I am feeling quite exuberant tonight. There is an unusual aroma dancing around me, and I must admit that it is certainly enticing.
I would like to think that I have never experienced that odd sensation you mortals often refer to, but am I quite right in assuming that the experience can be both fulfilling and never wrecking?
Tell me, Julie, are YOU nervous?
Yeah just a little, this is a total fan-girl moment for me.

Would you like a drink? maybe something to eat? me maybe?
I try to make it a point of never mixing business with pleasure, but of course, there are times when a ‘little’ something can be quite refreshing for the soul; if you have one.
What would you suggest? Your neck, wrist or thigh? *winks* I personally find that *runs finger over your collar bone in circular moves* little spot right below your collar bone to give just the right amount of flow. It’s like warm nectar; soft and velvety.
*Shivers from your touch*

What is your favourite power?
Fire is certainly the most entertaining of them all. I, as you well know am partial to using a little pyre to my advantage, something I dare say I will continue to use. But I believe I have a little competition in the form of our little Princess. I do also enjoy a little adventure now and then, but of course that always ends up as a little universe shifting.

How old are you now, if you don’t mind me asking?
Hmm, it all depends on how old you want me to be? *cheeky grin* Let’s put it like this, I was around a long time before Drake tried to bed dear old Lizzy back in 1588. But if you really want a number, how’s this for measure? I am the grand old age of 915, year of birth, 1098 and William the Conqueror was the head of your Kingdom.

Are you concerned about age differences?
Certainly not. Surely you’ve heard that something gets better with age, and I, like a good old Brandy, only get better with each passing year.
Yes you do

Are you happy that you’re living/dead?
I have never been dead, my fair Julie. I am as alive as you. I exist just like you; the only difference is I am a creature of the night. I in a time when the classical blood line was strong, and our hearts beat strong just as yours does now.

Do you have any guilty pleasures? Are they guilty really?
Through my life I must admit that there have been times when the inner monster inside me ruled, and I never gave much concern as to how I got my pleasures, but these days I find a beautiful sunset quite pleasing to the eye, as I do watching Giselle breathe as she sleeps. Of course, I would never let her know that, she’d probably scoff at me and lay a few punches in my direction.
But I have become quite accustomed to apples – yes, bizarre. I find their crunch and flavour quite pleasing on my palate, and I do enjoy reminiscing about times gone by in The Louvre, Paris brings me many strong memories.

What would you change about yourself if you could?
Nothing! Why ever would I? I don’t mean to sound ridiculously snobbish or as Giselle says, ‘cocky’, but I have always been comfortable in my own skin. I am what I am, and no amount of wistful wishes could ever change my existence. I am here to serve a purpose, and I believe I am delivering on queue.

What is your favourite thing to do in the whole world?
Hunt and I don’t mean me running through forests bare foot and chowing down on deer. I prefer Asiatic black bear hunting. I often go back to the Khabarovsk region and Primnorsky Krai and take great sport by stalking and bating in the fall or spring and in the dens in the winter.

Do you thinkyou & Giselle will make it?
I can tell you this; our life together has been forged by a series of events that can never be undone. Giselle is now a fundamental part of who I am, without her, I would be just another pointless being. She makes sense of who I am, and for alone, I am grateful. Plus she is very pleasing to the eye, but the rest you will just have to wait and see! J

I know I should probably ask Julieanne this but maybe you will know, I can’t wait to hear more about your life, will there be any more books with you in them?
I do believe my darling Julieanne has penned a complete series based on my life before I became embroiled in Giselle’s story. You may have become acquainted with my younger brother, Luka in the Shadow World series, and in The Vilniv Chronicles, you will become even more acquainted with my entire family, and none more so than my twin sister, Isobelle. There have been many adventures and love interests to keep you reading into the early hours.

How do you feel about how the world has changed since you were born to present day?
I believe man continues to ruin this precious planet he likes to call ‘home’. With all these ‘man made’ wars, we creatures of the underworld can live without the fear of fingers pointing at us. Man is quite accomplished at destroying himself, and we can just sit back and enjoy the show. Of course, women have become more independent and beautiful. That alone is a striking change, considering I was born in a time when women were nothing more than child bearers and cleaners. Women of today are stronger, and indeed have become mans equal.

Optional questions

What is your biggest pet peeve?
Vampires who kill for sport.

All time favorite movie? Or top 3?
Berlin Wintergarten Novelty Program (1895)
Murders in the Rue Morgue (1932)
Casablanca (1942)

Well it was fantastic having you here on my couch Antoine, I am flustered but I enjoyed every minute of it, I mean, having you here obviously, Please feel free to come back anytime you like, my door will always be open for you.

Thank you so much for having me, Julie. You have been a wonderful host, your furniture comfortable, and your scent simply divine.

Swoon bigtime, you have to love Antoine don't you agree?

Now we have another favourite of mine from Julieanne

Can true love really free you from the shackles? Or is temptation a road well travelled?

The Review
I liked this book, The main characters were well thought out and very well described, I love how at the beginning of the book one girl was so happy, yet she turned out to be the one taken, Would there be more coming from the Outlands or was this just a one off, I think this is safe for my daughter who is 12 to read, 4.5/5
